Attended last night and had a lovely time as ever (a thank you to my host Totaljobs) - it is frightening that i remember attending when i was much younger and being quite intimidated by the size of it and the preserve of the "players" of the industry.
Now i attend and i know loads of people - you end up waving across the room at various individuals and have many conversations with people who know you quite well but you just cant quite place but feel unable to ask "who are you again?" - traditional British reserve prevents all of us doing this doesn't it? So i have officially become an old lag of the industry - but cant quite remember when this happened.
Anyway - it traditionally becomes a bit of a bitch fest about the winners particularly in online categories (i had a real problem with last years main winner which i think missed the point that online has to be effective not just innovative). This year i think was different i thought the online category winners and finalists were really good quality pieces of work and i am sure the losers could have gripes but that is as it should be.
Anyway well done to all concerned - and i tell you what - lets say well done to the Judges too!
